Craving more
of the Food Buggy?
We're happy you're here :)
Here's how it all got started!
Experiential learning and community engagement are hallmarks of a John Carroll University education.

The Food For Thought food buggy began as concept which would fulfill John Carroll University's comprehensive and holistic Jesuit mission while actualizing the University as a social entrepreneurship leader in Cleveland.
The Food Buggy evolved into an experiential learning project designed to provide a way to help students creatively leverage both the capacity to make a profit and make a difference by building and nourishing community with those in need.
The power of collaboration is critical to our success. Students will collaborate with partners including the Center for Service and Social Action, the Donnelly School of Leadership and Social Innovation, Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries, and the Chopping for Change Program.
Our Mission
The JCU Food Buggy is a student operated social enterprise serving people in the Cleveland community experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Our overall goal: to nourish the community we know and love.
Our mission is two-fold. The Food Buggy operates as a small scale food truck, hosting revenue-generating events both on and off John Carroll University's campus. Then, utilizing the revenue generated from these events, the Buggy rolls into various Cleveland neighborhoods, offering the choice of a food truck meal to those experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
